E-Inclusion means both inclusive ICT and the use of ICT to achieve wider inclusion objectives. It focuses on participation of all individuals and communities in all aspects of the information society. e-Inclusion policy, therefore, aims at reducing gaps in ICT usage and promoting the use of ICT to overcome exclusion, and improve economic performance, employment opportunities, quality of life, social participation and cohesion. Inclusion encompasses more than access to higher education; it also involves the teaching, learning, assessment and curricula experienced by students after they arrive and throughout their course of study. An inclusive approach is fundamental to excellent educational practices, as it aims to ensure that all students, including those in protected groups, are able to participate fully and succeed academically at equal rates.
The HEI Framework is applicable to online, blended, and classroom training and is intended for anyone involved in the design, development, and/or delivery of training and educational curricula.
